Scientific Notes
High-intensity dipeptide sweetener ~2,000× sweeter than sucrose by weight. Never fully authorised in the EU. Approved in Australia, New Zealand, China, and Mexico. Unlike aspartame, it does not yield phenylalanine — no PKU concern. Hydrolysed to D-alanine amide.
