Terms of Service
Effective May 14, 2026
Acceptance
By accessing or using Looksee (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
What Looksee is
Looksee is an informational tool that aggregates and displays product data — including nutrition, ingredients, additives, and processing level — sourced from Open Food Facts and other community-maintained databases. We assign a composite Looksee Score to products based on publicly documented methodology.
Looksee is not a medical service. Nothing on the site constitutes dietary, nutritional, or medical advice. Always consult a qualified professional for decisions related to health conditions, allergies, or medication.
Data accuracy
Product data is sourced from third-party community databases and may be incomplete, out of date, or incorrect. Manufacturers regularly change formulations without notice. We make no warranty that any information on Looksee is accurate, current, or complete.
Do not rely solely on Looksee when managing food allergies or serious medical conditions. Always read the physical product label.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download product data without prior written permission.
- Use the Service to build a competing product without attribution.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or disrupt the Service.
- Submit false, misleading, or malicious product data.
- Violate any applicable law or regulation in your use of the Service.
User accounts
Creating an account is optional. If you create one, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Intellectual property
The Looksee name, logo, scoring methodology, and original website content are our intellectual property. Product data is sourced from Open Food Facts under a CC BY-SA 4.0 licence and remains the property of its respective contributors.
