A food made from cacao beans combined with cocoa butter, sugar, and often milk solids; composition varies widely from dark to milk to white chocolate. Dark chocolate (≥70% cacao) is rich in flavanols linked to improved blood flow, lower blood pressure, and reduced cardiovascular risk. Milk and white chocolate contain little or no cocoa solids and significantly more added sugar.
