What to know

Vitamin B2; a water-soluble vitamin essential for cellular energy production through the flavin coenzymes FAD and FMN, which participate in the electron transport chain. Added to enriched flour, cereals, and dairy products; naturally abundant in organ meats, dairy, eggs, and leafy greens. Excess riboflavin is excreted in urine (causing characteristically bright yellow color); no known toxicity from food sources.
